SPEA & Green Deal: 5 New Solar Plants
SPEA has successfully completed the installation of five new photovoltaic plants at its facilities in Volpiano. With a combined power output of 1131.975 kWp, these installations mark a significant leap towards self-producing renewable energy. They will cover a significant portion of the company’s energy needs and reinforce its commitment to a more sustainable future.
The project, executed by Coesa Energy, was made possible thanks to the valuable support of the European Union. This initiative received funding under the “Call for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies in Businesses 2024” (Action II.2i.2 “Energy Efficiency for Businesses”), with a contribution from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) covering 10% of the total expenditure. This support aligns with Policy Objective 2: “A greener, low-carbon, resilient Europe” – Priority II – “Ecological Transition and Resilience.”
The installation of these photovoltaic plants on our production buildings located on Via Torino and Corso Piemonte in Volpiano clearly demonstrates our commitment to the goals outlined in the European Green Deal and the Renovation Wave Strategy. SPEA is actively working to reduce carbon emissions and promote a more responsible and environmentally friendly business model.
“Photovoltaic energy not only allows us to reduce our environmental impact and optimize energy costs,” states Lorenzo Bonaria, Executive Vice President at SPEA. “This investment also reaffirms our long-term vision: to be a company that is at the forefront not just in the technology it produces, but also in the sustainable practices it adopts. We are pleased that the European Union and the ERDF are supporting these projects, effectively accelerating a large-scale green transition.”
This project underscores SPEA’s continuous dedication to innovation and sustainability, which are fundamental pillars for the company’s future growth and the well-being of our planet.
